Yes, I wanna be a billionaire! Who wouldn’t feel good being, or at least dreaming of becoming, a billionaire one day?

2. Are you a real Christmas tree kinda person or do you go with a real fake one?
Fake one. Don’t have good pine trees, in this country, that are small enough to fit in our house

3. What are you thankful for?
Right now, I’m thankful for crackers. I forgot to eat lunch and it’s already past 3 in the afternoon. Good thing I have some crackers in the pantry.

4. Which fashion fad from the past do you wish you could wear today?
Nothing really.

5. Do you wait until the "low fuel" light comes on before you fill up the gas tank?
I don’t drive so this question is not applicable for me?

MMT #9 - Mom-ME Time, 17 June 2011

I was able to have my Mom-ME time everyday last week. Yes, everyday! Good for me? Well, I'm sure if you're a SAHM or WAHM, you most often than not have this ME time also. As soon as the school bus picks up RJ, I turn on the television and watch the local morning news of ABS-CBN while eating breakfast. I also watch other local channel's morning show while the ABS-CBN news show is on commercial break.

A good combination to start the day, right? Breakfast they say is the most important meal of the day. Although I'm not a big breakfast eater, I try to eat a portion good enough to make me full until lunch time.

I get ideas on what to blog about from the morning show. But I'm appealing to the news team to please, please give more importance to good quality news instead of reporting  gruesome, unimportant news that even give wrong ideas to uneducated people. Report what happened but don't give the details of how the bad deed was done.

I might have frowned a bit when I watched those bad news, but overall my ME time was superb! So, how was your ME time?

The best birthday gift

The best birthday gift that I receive every year, since giving birth to my son, is a tight hug, a kiss and "I love you, Mama" from him.

Actually, he hug, kiss and say "I love you, Mama" everyday. He is such a sweet child.

There are days when I feel so empty, depressed. I feel like I'm at the point in my life when I should have done more. But each time I see beggars on the street, I realize that I shouldn't worry and complain too much. Everytime I see other Mommies working and not being able to take care of their kids everyday, I know I've made the right decision to work at home and be with my son during his growing up years.

God knows more than I do. He knows what's best for me. I have wants, lots and lots of it, and even if I don't ask for it, I know he'll give it to me in His time.

bonding time with my sisters

I have 4 siblings, I'm the eldest and we're all girls. We pretty much try to squeeze in a weekend get-together. Although we seldom do it because we all have busy schedules. My youngest sister usually has a movie date with her boyfriend, the third sibling has graduate school every Saturday and the second girl in the family now live in the province. 

Whenever I have this gut feel, eldest sibling antenna perhaps, that everyone is free for the weekend I usually text my sisters, or send a personal message on FB, right away. My gut feel hasn't failed me yet.

My weekend dates with my sisters usually falls on a Sunday. The day usually starts with hearing mass and from there we usually watch a movie, shopping (most of the time window shopping) and have lunch or dinner (depends on what time we heard mass).

landline phone for Halloween

This is our landline phone for more than a year already. Now it’s inside the box and we’ll just use it on Halloween week. We we’re having some problems with our landline connection last week so I tried our old landline phone and was so lazy to put back the skull phone.

We bought ours this in Cash and Carry Mall in Makati. If you want to buy one, you can check out the tiangge areas in Greenhills.

Happy Sunday everyone! How was your weekend so far?

I will have another ME-time inside the cinema house today. Will be watching Transformers 3 with my son, nephew and sisters. Although technically it's not an alone-time, the people around me won't matter anymore once the movie has started and the lights are out already.

I better get ready! The next movie schedule is at 3 pm.

How was your weekend mommies? Mine was good but I was worried the past few days because of the storm Falcon. Although Mr. Sun gave a small glimpse of himself, I'm glad that the heavy rain has stopped.

I just got back from doing my weekly grocery shopping. Before that we, me, my son, nephew and sisters, went to church to hear mass. Then the kids enjoyed an hour playing in Timezone. They went home after that and I went to the grocery store.

I was planning on having a foot spa but I will just do that next weekend. An hour, in the grocery store, of buying the things that we need for the week was my ME-time. Some of you might not consider doing your mommy chores your ME-time, but everytime I am by myself is already a ME-time for me.

I was able to relax my mind and be stress-free for an hour,so that's an awesome ME-time for me already.

I'll be having my ME time at exactly 4:30PM this afternoon. Although my son and my sisters will go with me, I'm very sure that I'll enjoy my ME-time inside the cinema. My sister already bought our tickets for the Green Lantern movie.

The linky for the Mom-ME time meme will be up a day earlier than usual. This coming week, starting tomorrow actually, is going to be a very busy week for me.

So, what did I do for my ME time this week?

My son asked me yesterday if he can use my laptop to write a “novel”. With nothing else to do, I decided to just watch tv. I found a show that I’ve only seen for the first time and I enjoyed it.

OUT OF PRACTICE is a comedy about a family of physicians who share the same profession but have little else in common. Ben Barnes (Christopher Gorham) is an earnest young couples' counselor whose family doesn't consider him to be a "real" doctor because he doesn't have "M.D." after his name. They're the real doctors: Ben's brother, Oliver (Ty Burrell) is good-looking, self-centered, and a plastic surgeon who enjoys dating the prettiest women in town, some of whom he helped make that way; and his sister Regina (Paula Marshall) is an E.R. doctor who's hooked on the non-stop action there. Their divorcing parents are Stewart (Henry Winkler), a gastroenterologist who is glad to be free from the reins of his controlling wife, and Lydia (Stockard Channing), a driven, status conscious cardiologist whose career eclipsed her ex's years ago. Stewart is also dating Crystal (Jennifer Tilly), his assistant, who just happens to be a patient of Oliver's. But despite their lofty credentials, Ben might be the best prescription for the future of this family. ~cbs.com

It’s a really funny show, which first aired in September 2005, but it stopped airing new shows in 2006. Now I’ve found a show that I can watch on my Nokia phone during my I-feel-so-lazy days.

Math Genius?

My favorite subject when I was in grade school and high school is Math. Here’s an excerpt from one of my previous post:

Math was my favorite subject in high school. My math teacher made me believe that I am a math genius! That made me decide to study Math in college. I passed the UPCAT (University of the Philippines College Admission Test) and took up Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics Major in Actuarial Science.

I was able to use whatever I learned in college for a few years. But I finally decided that there’s no love lost between me and the actuarial field. You might want to read my whole post on why I decided not to become rich.

My son doesn’t like Math. But I encourage him not to, hate math, because he’s actually the math genius in the family. Smarter than me, BS Math graduate, and his dad, BS Math and Physics graduate.

Any suggestions on how to encourage him not to hate Math?

We went to the beach yesterday. It was just a 45-minute drive from our house in the province. Look how calm the sea is, that's at 630 in the morning. Because we were very early, we had the whole resort to enjoy for 2 hours. The water was very clear, there were small fishes swimming near the shoreline.

I was not able to join them in swimming, it’s that time of the month, so I just spent the day taking pictures. I was the official photographer of the group. While they were basking in the sun, I spent some time in the shade of the beach hut reading an ebook from my cellular phone.

I'm back online, I just had my ME-time! 

I didn't have to go far and didn't spend anything for my alone time today. In fact, I didn't even step out of the house. I spent my ME-time sleeping for more than an hour. I wasn't intending to sleep after lunch but my eyes felt so heavy already. I was planning to finish some work but I gave in and decided to get a few minutes of shuteye.

Pink Nintendo DSi

My son has a white Nintendo DS, which is got broken eons ago, and a blue Nintendo DSi. My niece has her own Nintendo DSi that's colored pink. Pink is her favorite color so it's a no-brainer that she'll chose a pink colored DSi.

Playing Nintendo's together is my son and niece's bonding time this summer break. They download the same games and connect it, don't ask me because I don't know how -will ask them later, so they can play it together. They can see the same things on their individual screens, how cool is that right?

I'm waiting when they'll have their next huge fight. But it hasn't happened yet. I guess growing up does that, they now get along well. Thanks you Nintendo for that!

4. The dogs are now basking in the sun. Thank God the predicted Super Typhoon didn't hit the country.

6. Clean the path, it's filled with dog poop.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finish setting up my blogs, tomorrow my plans include going to the mall and Sunday, I want to hear mass early in the morning!

I want to buy something if it has a purpose and not just so I can have the latest. This is on top of my I WANT! list at the moment - a Samsung Galaxy Tab.

What do I like about it? It is compact and light, a 13.58-ounce, 7-inch tablet that slips easily into a pocket or bag. I have scoliosis and my back becomes painful when carrying heavy things.  It is equipped with 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi  or Bluetooth. Internet-on-the-go means blogging-on-the-go!

I'm a bookworm, I have a bookshelf in the house overflowing with books. So this is one of the things I also like about this gadget.
