bonding time with my sisters

I have 4 siblings, I'm the eldest and we're all girls. We pretty much try to squeeze in a weekend get-together. Although we seldom do it because we all have busy schedules. My youngest sister usually has a movie date with her boyfriend, the third sibling has graduate school every Saturday and the second girl in the family now live in the province. 

Whenever I have this gut feel, eldest sibling antenna perhaps, that everyone is free for the weekend I usually text my sisters, or send a personal message on FB, right away. My gut feel hasn't failed me yet.

My weekend dates with my sisters usually falls on a Sunday. The day usually starts with hearing mass and from there we usually watch a movie, shopping (most of the time window shopping) and have lunch or dinner (depends on what time we heard mass).

How was your weekend mommies? Mine was good but I was worried the past few days because of the storm Falcon. Although Mr. Sun gave a small glimpse of himself, I'm glad that the heavy rain has stopped.

I just got back from doing my weekly grocery shopping. Before that we, me, my son, nephew and sisters, went to church to hear mass. Then the kids enjoyed an hour playing in Timezone. They went home after that and I went to the grocery store.

I was planning on having a foot spa but I will just do that next weekend. An hour, in the grocery store, of buying the things that we need for the week was my ME-time. Some of you might not consider doing your mommy chores your ME-time, but everytime I am by myself is already a ME-time for me.

I was able to relax my mind and be stress-free for an hour,so that's an awesome ME-time for me already.

Green Lantern, can’t wait for the next one

So, we watched Green Lantern last Sunday afternoon. It’s a thumbs up for me because it’s an action-comedy movie. Although, come to think of it, it’s actually not action-packed. Green Lantern had a bloodless fight with the villains but that’s the most action that I can remember from the movie. But I enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one. My sister’s find Thor more funny, but not for me! I saw my son laughing, while he was preparing to go to sleep that night, and when I asked him why he said that he remembered a funny scene from the movie.

Ryan Reynolds, with his abs and well-toned body, is really good in comedy. I first saw him in Two Guys, a Girl and a pizza place, which was later on changed to Two Guys and a Girl, an ABC sitcom.

I watched all episodes of that show because one, I love comedy TV shows and two, because Ryan Reynolds is so funny. I’m a sucker for comedy, not love stories. I’d rather have a good laugh than cry.

I hope the next Green Lantern movie is as funny as the first one.

MMT #3 - Mom-ME Time, 5 June 2011

We went to the beach yesterday. It was just a 45-minute drive from our house in the province. Look how calm the sea is, that's at 630 in the morning. Because we were very early, we had the whole resort to enjoy for 2 hours. The water was very clear, there were small fishes swimming near the shoreline.

I was not able to join them in swimming, it’s that time of the month, so I just spent the day taking pictures. I was the official photographer of the group. While they were basking in the sun, I spent some time in the shade of the beach hut reading an ebook from my cellular phone.

I'm back online, I just had my ME-time! 

I didn't have to go far and didn't spend anything for my alone time today. In fact, I didn't even step out of the house. I spent my ME-time sleeping for more than an hour. I wasn't intending to sleep after lunch but my eyes felt so heavy already. I was planning to finish some work but I gave in and decided to get a few minutes of shuteye.

Welcome to our first-ever Mom-Me Time meme.

I was able to have my ME time, a few nights ago, when RJ decided to sleep early. I was online on facebook for almost an hour reading on what’s new with the PMC group.

Thank you Mommy Ruby, founder of the group and the mommy behind Pinay Mommy Online, for letting me join this community of Pinay Mommy bloggers. The group has helped me learn more about SEO, tweaking and monetizing my blogs and a lot of other things about blogging.

weekend blog follower caravan

Hey everyone! I am joining this blog caravan for the first time. I am very hopeful that I will meet more blogger friends that will make me look forward to going online and blogging more everyday.

I go by the name RJ's Mama in the blogosphere. I have been a stay-at-home mom for 10 years already to my one and only son RJ.

I've been sharing a little bit of my daily life at Journal of RJ's Mama and My Baby RJ for almost two years already. I've met a lot of new friends, mostly mothers like myself, and some who are not-so-friendly people in the blogosphere.

trick art museum at seriland

I got curious with this Korean "edutainment" theme park when I first saw it featured on a morning show. So off we go to Seriland The Land of Happy Thoughts last Sunday afternoon.

There are four activities, with an entrance fee of Php150 each, to choose from. The Mirror Maze, 3D Trick Art Musem, 3D Cinema Plus and Kids’ Paradise. There's an on-going promo of buy 3 get 1 ticket for free until the end of May 2011. Kids and adults have the same entrance fee.

We had the most fun at the trick art museum.

Both kids and adults will enjoy visiting Seriland, located at the 2nd floor of Manila Ocean Park, especially the Trick Art Museum. But there's no point in coming back. Not unless there are new activities and new trick arts in the future.

the right DSLR camera

I need to buy a DSLR camera. My point and shoot camera has failed me big time when we watched the Pyromusical Competition last Saturday.

I've never been disappointed with my shots. I was tempted to use my cell phones in taking photos of Portugal and UK's fireworks display. The camera on my cellular phone has low pixel, so it also can't capture the amazing fireworks display. I ended up taking videos and just a few pictures.

I've been planning to buy a DSLR camera but my weak back is only capable of carrying anything that's heavy 5minutes tops.

What DSLR brand are you using or planning to buy? What's the smallest one in the market?
