Albay visit; Mayon Volcano - Alert Level 2

I was in Albay over the weekend. As soon as I set foot on Legaspi City, I can't help but notice the very humid air. It was so hot there, way much hotter than the weather here in Manila. It may be due to the seismic abnormality of Mayon volcano.

Main reason for our visit was to see my grandmother who turned 92 January of this year. We also attended our towns fiesta. It became sort of a family reunion for us. Everybody from Manila was there, some relatives from Las Vegas also came home. My son was able to meet, for the first time, my cousin from the states. Last time I saw her was 9 years ago when I visited their family in their old house in New Jersey.

It was a happy weekend.

HP Mini Laptop

As I have posted a few days back, I am planning to buy a new Dell laptop. But I couldn't wait anymore, it will take months for me to save up for a Dell Mini. So, yesterday I bought a HP Mini laptop. It is more affordable than a Dell Mini but it only comes in one color...black. At least now I can go online anywhere without breaking my back carrying my old-heavy laptop :)

virtual memory too low

I need a new laptop. I've been using my Dell Inspiron for around 5 years already. Just to open an email account takes forever. Maybe I should just upgrade it with a bigger memory. But I want to bring my laptop anywhere I go and this current laptop that I have weighs like I am carrying a big bus. That's an exaggeration, of course, but it is really heavy. I have scoliosis so I will try saving for a pink Dell Inspiron Mini.

one small step at a time

I was not able to run in Ultra's track oval last night. There was thunder and lightning when we were about to leave, it looks like it was going to rain.

Because I was in a "running attire" already, I just decided to run using the stairs in our condominium building. I went up 32 floors with 20 steps going up each floor. Going up was so hard but going down was easy already.

When my son saw that I was so tired already, he said "Let's go down Mama, you look tired already". I took that opportunity to teach him about perseverance. I told him that no matter how difficult something is, giving up is not the solution. Instead he should do it little by little until he reach his goal or finish what he was supposed to do.

It was a very tiring, yet fulfilling, day.

will run in ULTRA tonight

I am gaining so much weight, I decided to run for the 2nd time this year in ULTRA, Pasig. I hope I can catch up with my son. He joined a 2.5k run in Clark, Pampanga last year and 3k Airspeed Run in MOA early this year. He has more stamina than I am since he is also a swimmer.

First time I ran with him he said I did a good job. Wish me luck!
