Globe Postpaid Promo With Free Samsung Galaxy Note 2

I finally found the postpaid cellular phone plan that's just right for my budget. Thanks to my sister, I was able to get Globe's latest promo of unlimited internet for only 999 per month. And the awesomeness doesn't end there. The postpaid plan comes with a monthly consumable load of Php101 each month and...

drumroll please...

... a FREE Samsung Galaxy Note 2!! Such a steal right!? I don't really use my cellphone much for calling, so the Php101 consumable load per month is more than enough for my monthly texting. The unlimited 3G mobile browsing, I can put to good use when I wait for my son at school to do some online work. What's good about Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is I can share the internet connection with my other devices by turning on the phone's wifi hotspot setting.

Although I can go on and on and on about the awesomeness of this deal, I am still trying to find my way navigating this Samsung phablet. I can't help but compare it with an Apple device but this deal is such a steal, I have no reason to dislike this phablet!

Solar Powered Headphones

A Kickstarter campaign for a solar powered headphones is on its last phase of development. The developers are now looking for early buyers to fund the manufacturing of the first batch of the said solar powered headphones.

It looks like any other headphone but it can do more than what any other headphones can normally do. When in use, this solar powered headphones can also charge your device.

Cool, right!

So if you think this new invention is super awesome, head on to Kickstarter.com to place your order.

Patience is a Virtue

After spending lots of money for his guitar lessons for the past few years, his 3 guitars and guitar accessories, he has said goodbye to his dream of becoming the best guitar player. RJ, my 12 year old son, hasn't touched his guitar for months.

I am actually not happy about it. There are days that I so want to badly force him to play the guitar because I know it's one of his talent. But I am trying to show that I'm a patient and understanding mom.

I just hope he practice sometimes. That guitar ain't cheap!

Extended Physical Education Classes

Kids playing basketballTo address the growing problem of child obesity in the country, the Department of Health (DOH) has made a suggestion to the Department of Education (DepEd) to lengthen physical education classes in schools all over the country. DepEd  should do this or think of other ways to teach our younger generation to live a healthier lifestyle.

There are some instances where kids don’t enjoy their PE class. Not everyone likes basketball, some have two left-feet so they screw up their dancing class even with the accompaniment of lively music. DepEd should have the option of letting kids choose the PE class that they want to attend to make them enjoy, and not hate, the PE class extensions.

How to Deal With Unintentional Parent Abuse

Quality Time, Mother and ChildI read this interesting article on NY Times about UPA (Unintentional Parent Abuse).
According to emergency room physicians, pediatricians and other experts, U.P.A. is no laughing matter. With unpredictable infants and toddlers, meals, bath time or even cuddles can go terribly wrong. Though statistics for injuries caused by young children are difficult to find, parents routinely suffer concussions, chipped teeth, corneal abrasions, nasal fractures, cut lips and torn earlobes, among other injuries.  ~nytimes.com
How do we avoid kid’s unintentional abuse to us, their parents? Here are some tips from the experts:
  1. Trim their fingernails – You don’t want that pretty face scarred for a few weeks, or worse for life.
  2. Don’t wear things that’s attention grabbing – Babies tend to be curious with anything and everything especially with glasses and earrings. So if you don’t want to get poked or lose an ear, you should stop wearing “interesting” things while taking care of your baby.
  3. Safe toys only – It’s better to give them educational toys instead of play guns, bow and arrows. Unless you want
  4. Sleep well - “A well-rested parent will be more alert and more physically able to dodge the kick,” according to Debra S. Holtzman, author of The Safe Baby: A Do-It-Yourself Guide to Home Safety and Healthy Living.

Martin Late at Night is Back!

I was a big fan of Martin Late at Nite and was probably the saddest fan when it aired its last show in 2003. But now it’s back on ABS-CBN! Martin Late @ Night airs every Friday nights at 11:30 pm – 12:15 am after the news show Bandila.

Martin Late at Night ABS-CBN

I’ve been hearing of its comeback for months already but only had the chance to watch tonight. Tonight’s guest is Lea Salonga. Lea taught Martin how to play this video game. I forgot the name, sorry. Like me, Martin is not a “gamer” so he doesn’t know how to use the controls.

It was a very fun episode, Martin and Lea are both very witty and talkative. Jet Mandela had a brief appearance at the end of the show.

I won’t miss the next Friday night episodes. Hopefully, this show will last for years.

Welcome back Martin!

Can Hardly Wait for Samsung Galaxy S4

Last night, I saw from a blogger's facebook status that Samsung Galaxy S4 will soon be in store shelves here in the Philippines. I can hardly wait to see it. I had sleepless nights last year whether to buy an iPhone 4s or a Samsung Galaxy S3. Ok, a bit exaggerated on "sleepless nights" but I did visit the mall 4 times to check the specks of the two leading smart phones.

Although I decided to not buy at that time, Samsung Galaxy S3 would have been my choice if I did buy one.

Now that Samsung Galaxy S4 will soon be unboxed, I would again have sleepless nights whether to buy an iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S4! Expensive maybe, but I have to replace my 4 year old Nokia phone already anyway.

Blogging Plans for 2013

I was getting fed up with blogging for quite some time now. It wasn't just a bad case of writer's block, I totally lost interest with blogging.

I have declined a lot of earning opportunities for my blogs this month. I don't really understand how some advertisers would like to advertise ads about Goggles on my food blog. Really. Don't they know that readers on that blog are probably there because of one thing only? Food. Not goggles.

But since listening to a podcast about passive income, seo and adsense from "blogging gurus", I'm now ready to blog again this 2013. I have yet to start formulating my blogging plans for 2013 though.

Check Who Pinned Your Website Images on Pinterest

Happy Tuesday! Feeling sad today? Paste a fake smile on your face and in 1, 2, 3 your brain will cooperate with that smile!

I was browsing my free entrepreneur issue and an article I've read has reminded me that I have a pinterest account and I have been neglecting it, and blogging too, for months already.

Anyway, the article was saying that there's a way to check who has pinned your website images on pinterest even if you're not on pinterest. Just go to marketmesuite.com/pinme, enter your website URL and a query result will show who has pinned your images.

Great tool to see if this is the right time to create a Pinterest account and take advantage of the third largest social networking site. I have to head on over there now and check whether any of my sites are becoming viral on Pinterest.

First Official Portrait of Kate Middleton, Yay or Nay

Have you seen Kate Middleton's, the Duchess of Cambridge, first ever official portrait? She apparently studied it for 10 minutes and finds it "Amazing". But art critics have mixed feelings about it.

Some say that Paul Emsley, didn't do justice to the Duchess's first ever portrait which is now on display at London's National Portrait Gallery. Most are blunt in saying that she looks old and drab in the portrait.

What's your opinion on this very important matter? Is Kate Middleton's first official Duchess of Cambridge portrait a yay or a nay?
