7 Best TV Shows

I used to love watching TV. I don't have the time to do that now because of mommy duties and work. I have to do two or three things at the same time if I want to watch something. I get to watch the news when I'm preparing dinner or washing the dishes.

I miss the days when I have lots of free time on my hands to do everything that I want to do. Here are the top 7 shows on my favorite list.

7th-heaven-cast 7th Heaven - Reverend Eric and Annie Camden makes parenting looks so easy. I just don't understand why their kids still finds a way to misbehave. But I so love this show. A local channel airs a 7th Heaven marathon during the Holy Week and I always look forward to watching the reruns for one whole day.

The Cosby Show - Dr. Cliff and Atty Claire Huxtable, my fave TV  parents just like the Camdens. Their kids didn't give them as much headache as the Camden kids gave their parents. A funny TV show, just the way I like it.

Friends - Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, Ross, Chandler and Joey, I miss them all! Fans have been waiting, when will they ever start planning for the Friends movie?
The Nanny - Do you feel that you'd rather be wearing a headset when Fran is talking? Not me! I love how witty and funny Fran Drescher's character is. Or was.

Charmed - My week then will never be complete when I miss watching the Halliwell sisters beat evil warlocks.

Gilmore Girls - I love watching the mother-daughter tandem of cool-mom Lorelie and smart Rory Gilmore.

Brothers and Sisters - Did this tv show left us hanging? I do think that the last episode shoul not have been the last episode.

Some good things never last. But at least I can still watch these shows on cable, dvd, blu-ray and online.

What is your favorite summer fruit

It's summer once again and fruits, like RJ's favorite mango, are in abundance. We used to have a mango tree in our yard when I was growing up. I remember getting woken up in the middle of the night each time a ripe mango fall on the roof.

The tree had to go when our house got renovated. I miss that tree. Now I have to buy if I want to eat green mangoes. A kilo is 25php during summer and it goes up to around 60php during non-summer days.

mobile operator or cellphone unit problem?

There are days when my mobile phone has no signal. I just bought it a year ago, and I’ve pondered so much whether I should or shouldn’t buy it, so I don’t think I’m ready to accept that there’s a problem with the cellular phone itself. I don’t want to say goodbye to this phone yet.

cellular phone

The culprit, I’m positively very sure, is the signal strength in our condominium building. I’ve no idea if the weak signal is due to the mobile operator’s tower location or the concrete wall of our building, but this I’m very sure and this is what I’m ready to accept for now –my cellular phone problem is because of poor mobile signal.

Math Genius?

My favorite subject when I was in grade school and high school is Math. Here’s an excerpt from one of my previous post:
Math was my favorite subject in high school. My math teacher made me believe that I am a math genius! That made me decide to study Math in college. I passed the UPCAT (University of the Philippines College Admission Test) and took up Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics Major in Actuarial Science.
i love math

I was able to use whatever I learned in college for a few years. But I finally decided that there’s no love lost between me and the actuarial field. You might want to read my whole post on why I decided not to become rich.

My son doesn’t like Math. But I encourage him not to, hate math, because he’s actually the math genius in the family. Smarter than me, BS Math graduate, and his dad, BS Math and Physics graduate.

Any suggestions on how to encourage him not to hate Math?

what's your favorite reality show

One of my favorite reality show is Kendra. I like watching her not because I'm a fan of playboy magazine. I like her personality, she's a very happy person. Her laugh is so funny and yes contagious. Whenever I have a bad day, a happy show usually lifts my mood.

One episode that I like was when she got depressed with how slow her body was recovering after giving birth. I didn't like it because she was depressed. I liked that episode because it shows that celebrities, no matter how sexy they are, will also have the same problems like us normal moms. She was finally able to reduce belly fat after months of exercising with a trainor.

I was shocked, as her mom must have been, when she arranged a blind date for her mom. She even interviewed middle-age guys before picking the guy that she thinks her mom will like. And that's worth another post.

proof that i am not a vampire

There's this belief that vampires are scared of garlic. If that's the case, then there's no way that I am a vampire. I love garlic!

But in my case, just feed me with something that has lots and lots of garlic on it. But it has to be yummy of course!

i will never, ever do it again

Who's your favorite boy band? Mine? Whoever is topping the charts with the latest song. Well, that's actually true when I was younger (read: teenage years). When I was in Florida, at the time I was fresh out of my teenage years, 'N Sync was the hottest boy band. Back when Justin Timberlake was still sporting a curly hair.
N Sync

Although I was not a fan, of 'N Sync or any other boy band, I decided to spend a hundred dollars to watch their concert. That was my first concert outside of the Philippines. It wasn't a good experience. The very expensive ticket was for a seat at the uppermost part of the concert venue. I can touch the ceiling if I stretch my hands up and jump- really, no kidding! Me and my roommate even had to use a binocular to be able to see what's going on stage.

Because of curiosity, I spent so much money on something I don't even like. I will never, ever do something like that again.

Uhm, I bought their latest CD after that concert. I guess I wasn't thinking straight at that time...

ellen and oprah's biggest fan

Me!

I am a big fan. There was a rerun of last year's Oprah episode, when Ellen was a guest, this afternoon. I had to finish it eventhough I was already running late in picking up my son from school. I just love that episode.

I love Ellen's energy, she is very funny! She must have drank something before the show because she has so much energy! I am sad though that the Oprah show will be off the air soon. Will surely miss her.

Girl Talk #5

It has been a while since I last joined this thursday girl bonding. My last post was about first boyfriend. Been so busy with 4th quarterly test reviews, good thing RJ didn't fail 2nd grade.

My comfort food is not home-cooked or eaten at informal restaurants, but it does brings some form or measure of comfort, sense of well-being, or easy satisfaction (wikipedia).

Even Kris Aquino is a fan of this inexpensive milk chocolate. I know you want one now -- admit it!

I love books

I love reading and collecting books. A visit to a mall won’t be complete without at least passing by a bookstore. I love visiting second-hand bookstores. If you happen to pass by one and you see somebody on her hands and knees browsing the books on the bottom shelf, that most probably is me. Seldom do I leave without purchasing anything. Most of the time, I go home with a “good find”. I consider a book a “good find” if it only cost 10% of its original price and written by one of my favorite authors.

To know more about the books that I have and the books that I’d love to have in my collection, look for me in Shelfari.com

coffee addict

Yes, I admit it. No need for a lie detector test. I am an addict - - to coffee that is.

My dad can consume a cup of very-black-no-sweetener coffee every hour of every day. I wonder if it's hereditary - - being a coffee addict?

Too much caffeine doesn't make me feel well though. In excess of 3-4 cups of coffee a day, I can't breath well anymore.

They say that coffee is the number one source of antioxidant according to a number of studies. Antioxidants have been linked to a number of health benefits, according protection against heart disease and cancer.

So, what are you waiting for? Drink at least one cup a day, for a better health and a better life.
