what I hate about Christmas

Celebrating christmas eve in the Philippines is never complete without a Noche Buena feast. Yes, a feast. Not just two or three dishes but all kinds of food are prepared for noche buena. Who can resist taking a bite (or two, or more?) of mouth-watering food? I am no saint when it comes to eating yummy food.

noche buena

Actually, the whole time we were on vacation, all I did was eat! So yes, I gained a few pounds during our christmas vacation in the province. What's really horrible is that those few pounds settled on the wrong places! That's what I don't love about christmas, I eat too much. Top selling diet pills are now available over the counter and also online. But I will try to lose weight by exercising and eating the right amount of food. If diet and exercise fails, hello diet pills!

waistline: 24

I remember going back to my pre-pregnancy size after just a few months of giving birth to my son. That was 9 years ago. Although there are lots of diet pills that really work to choose from, I decided to try eating a balanced diet and rigorous exercise first.

I exercise when RJ is asleep. In the morning, I do an hour of aerobics. In the afternoon, I do strength training. Abdominal workout is scheduled before sleeping at night.

I was a lot more disciplined then. Maybe because I have all the time in the world to exercise. I can't go out because all RJ does is sleep, sleep and sleep. With regards to food, since my son's diet at that time is purely milk, I get to eat healthy meals of mostly fruits, veggies and white meat. I don't have to think of what RJ would not hate to eat and I survived without rice for many months.

Please God, help me be more disciplined just like before. I'm dying to fit in my size 0 jeans again.

i will replace you

I have been trying to lose some unwanted pounds. The culprit is bad carbohydrates. Filipino's love rice. Since I'm 100% Pinoy, I also include rice in every meal that I eat. I use to eat brown rice, but my son doesn't like it. And he doesn't like wheat bread. So now, we only have white rice and bread in the house. I even tried juice fat burners. It didn't work.

soon, i hope!
I am now planning to buy a treadmill. But our house does not have a space anymore. So my solution is to sell or give away our living room chairs. Any buyers or takers?

when is the right time to exercise

I have been complaining about my unwanted weight for the past few months. I'm sure you've read about it on my previous posts. I even contemplated on using diet pills. But I have yet to find diet pills that has worked for other people, that I know personally, before I start using one.

I will start exercising tomorrow. I don't want to "shock" my not-used-to-exercise body so I will take it easy the first day. 30 minutes of light cardio moves will do, right?

Wish me luck everyone!

have you checked your weight lately?

I have.

And guess what? I gained 2 pounds. Yes, only two pounds but I feel like I gained a hundred. I just don't understand how two pounds can make my face look sooo big! And my stomach is so huge I look like a walking ball. I may be exaggerating a bit but I feel uncomfortable. Everytime I look at myself in the mirror, it looks like the two pounds all went straight to my cheeks. And when I am sitting down, the excess baggage around my waist is making me feel so uncomfortable I just want to stand up even while in front of the computer.

I should start removing carbohydrates on my diet. Or try to limit my rice to half cup per meal. I admit that I have been a rice-glutton these last few months. I should snack on low carb bars, chocolate flavored would be nice.

This summer, I will try to eat more fruits. Fruits at this time of the year are so cheap and therefore I won't have any excuse not to buy. Instead of preparing fried chicken, I will just roast it and not eat the skin (how will I do it, I looove chicken skin). More steamed fish instead of the usual, easy to cook, fried fish. More vegetables also in lieu of the half cup rice that I will deprive myself in every meal.
