Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

kim_kardashian Kim Kardashian will never be my definition of sexy. Guys may love her curves but I think her "behind" is so huge it doesn't look normal for a human being to have! Nor will she ever be part of my Loveliest Locks list, even if her hairdresser use the most expensive and high-tech texturizing shears.

Angelina's lips is envied by women, but not me. Same sentiments I have with Kim K's behind, too huge. But I do envy her toned body on Tomb Raider.

But no matter what I say here, these two ladies will always be the loveliest in the eyes of Kanye West and Brad Pitt so I rest my case.

acne, adolescent problem

When I was in high school, a typical school day for me revolves around boarding house-school-boarding house. I seldom go out so it was a big question mark, for me at that time, why I have acne all over my young face.

acne problem

The pollution in the city and the food that I eat may have aggravated the acne problem brought about by the hormonal changes that I was experiencing during puberty. Early treatment is supposedly needed to lessen the overall impact of acne. But my Mom never allowed me to use anything on my face except for soap. I never visited a dermatologist also.

Because of that, I have acne and pimple scars.

My son, at his young age, has been asking me about pimples and acne. “I don’t want to have pimples like the big boys in school.” He’s now aware that he needs to soap his face properly and rinse it well to avoid having pimples early on his young life.

And when his first pimple shows up, I will allow him to use anything on his face provided that a licensed dermatologist prescribes it.

falling hair problem

Every single day, usually while combing my hair after taking a bath, I can't help but worry that sooner or later I have to buy a wig. I have this really huge problem with falling hair. I remember reading an article that hairfall, even a hundred strands a day, is normal. But my crown-of-glory is not that thick so I worry, a lot!

post it note tuesday

I've been reading lots of good reviews about Sunsilk Hair Fall solution. I see the television commercial everytime I watch TV so I got curious if it can really help solve hair fall problems. Since it was co-created by no less than a world reknowed dermatologist, I decided to try it out.

Sunsilk Co-Creations, Hairfall Solution, Dr Fransesca Fresco

First wash, more than the usual hairfall while rinsing my hair. Although my hair smells good, I can't help but think "Who's the dermatologist again? Will google her later."

Second wash, more hairfall! I can now make a wig for my niece's bald dolly! It was a good decision to buy a small bottle but overall decision to try it out -not very good.

post it note tuesday

Should I try it again? Maybe third time's the charm. Throw it in the garbage? Maybe I should just give it to our condo's maintenance girl, 40 pesos for a 100ml bottle is not that cheap.

What do you think?

i'm addicted to olay!

I have another new one to add to my collection of Olay products. This supposedly is for people who have oily skin. I don't necessarily hate having an oily face since it is helps -the oil- in moisturizing the face and prevents early signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging skin. I just want to lessen the oiliness (right spelling?) of my face because there are times that I can't retouch/repowder in front of other people.

Have you tried this product? What made you buy the product? Was it effective for you?

i'm a big fan!

Olay Total Effects

Need I say more? The picture says it all.

And my latest addition to my Olay collection.

Olay Regenerist eye serum

I noticed a few lines around my eyes so I decided that I do need to buy, and use for the first time, an eye cream. I don't use one yet because a small tube of eye cream is so much more expensive than a bigger tube of moisturizer. I thought the moisturizer will also take care of skin around the eye area. But obviously it didn't.

Can anyone suggest an eye cream that will erase (really, I want these lines removed!) lines around the eye area?

And what moisturizer works best for you? Would love to try a new one that works better than Olay.

brilliantly aging women

That's the title episode of an Oprah show, a rerun that I was watching earlier, with guest Raquel Welsh. She authored a book entitled Raquel: Beyond the Cleavage. An excerpt of the book is available at oprah.com.

There were other guests who look amazing at their age. One was even in her 90's but she looked nowhere her age. Their advice on how to not look your age boils down to one thing: ACCEPTANCE.

I hope I can accept my age when every part of my body is being pulled down by gravity. I am nearing my 40th anniversary of being a human. I want to look amazing when I reach 40. *fingers crossed*

hide those pictures!

I don't want to see any of my close-up pictures when I was in high school. I cringe just thinking about it. I had pimples and acnes back then. Lots of it on my young face.

My mom never allowed me to use anything on my face except for soap. Well, I live in her house so I had to follow her rules! Dermatologists at that time were unheard of, in the province where I live, let alone acne pills
that can make the humongous acne's on my face vanish.

Fast forward to present time. I can now use anything on my face. My mom even asks what she should buy to prevent wrinkles on her face. I am now enjoying my freedom! Freedom to choose whatever is good for my skin.

And yes, I will exercise that freedom to forever hide my high school photos.

no more sleepless nights

Because of my bad sleeping habit, I now have eyebags. Ugly, dark circles under my eyes. Not my first time, but I do look much worse now that when I use to sport a didn't-sleep-for-months look before. I already tried the suggestions, some but not everything, found online when I googled "how to remove dark circles under eyes".

Maybe I should just stop experimenting and just go back to my cucumber regimen. It has always done wonders in removing my dark eyebags. Frozen used-teabags or an ice bag filled with ice cubes also does the trick.

I should also sleep early, not later than 11pm, from now on. I don't want to look like a zombie anymore.

acne problem?

I don't remember when I had my first pimple. But I can well remember that my acne problem was at its worst when I was in high school. If the best acne face wash was already available then, I never had the chance to use it. My mom forbade me from using anything on my face except for soap.

When I started using facial wash and scrubs on my face, the acne and blackheads we're not that of a bother anymore. If I could have only known about these products, when acne and pimples were multiplying rapidly on my face, acne scars could have been avoided.

Are you looking for ways to get rid of your pimples, acnes and blackheads? Try using the new facial wash and scrubs available in the market right now. If they can clean your face, they will definitely work on getting rid of your acne problems as well.

how time flies

I will be another year older waaah in exactly 4hours, 15minutes and 5seconds. Time does fly so fast. True, that I'll be a year older tomorrow. But I will definitely face that tomorrow with a much prettier wiser me! Do I feel old? Not really.

"Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter." So true, right? It's my birthday, so just please agree with me.

time flies so fast

What I am a bit worried about though are the l-i-n-e-s. Yes, the lines! There's not that much yet. But I do have to start looking for the best eye cream for wrinkles. Any suggestions?

charice admitted she had botox at 18

I was shocked when I saw this on one of the feeds that I follow, "“Glee” Actress Admits To Getting Botox — Even Though She’s Only 18"

I got more shocked when I kept reading and learned that Charice is the "Glee Actress" that the article was referring to. She's too young to have Botox and Thermage. But I guess she has to follow the instructions of the "Glee people" or maybe it was Dra. Vicky Belo's advice.
