My birthday was yesterday, September 11, and I am now 35! I don’t feel that old though, I feel like I’m just in my early 20’s. I had an early birthday celebration with my sisters, nephew and cousin. Of course RJ was with us.

I was overwhelmed with the birthday greetings and wishes that I got on facebook from my facebook friends. A day before my birthday, my facebook account was already flooded with greetings and notifications.

Because I have deadlines to meet, we just had lunch at Lola Maria’s Restaurant at Legend Hotel in Pasig. It was my first time to try out that restaurant.

Overall, I had a wonderful birthday weekend.

The best birthday gift that I receive every year, since giving birth to my son, is a tight hug, a kiss and "I love you, Mama" from him.

Actually, he hug, kiss and say "I love you, Mama" everyday. He is such a sweet child.

I just remembered right now that I haven't seen the pictures during RJ's 10th birthday celebration. To those who doesn't know, my son turned 10 last June 22. We decided to not eat out during his birthday since it was on a school day. I surprised him with his "favorites", pasta carbonara and mango float, for his birthday dinner.

We had a simple get-together party, with the whole family, the next sunday after his birthday. Me and my sister were the assigned cook for the party. My sister is the chef in the house, so I just assisted her in the kitchen.

cellular phone accessory

My birthday present for myself last year -a cellular phone. I wasn't planning on buying a new one but my old phone wasn't working anymore. So far, I'm happy with the phone that I chose. It's the cheapest cellular phone unit on the executive series of Nokia.

I'm not a cellular phone addict so I'm not going to replace this phone yet. I want to buy cellular phone accessories that will help me make this phone usable for years. I want a cellular phone case that automatically locks when the phone is inserted. One that's magnetic, similar to a blackberry case, but so far I haven't found one.

I'm planning to keep this phone longer that the last one. My old-doesn't-work-anymore phone was given to me by my Uncle D, his extra mobile phone, and I had that phone for 5 years.

Literally. My dad did that when I was still a baby. I was his first-born, the apple of Papa and Mama's eyes, so I was nicknamed Apple. My dad is not the type that easily gets angry. In fact, he seldom gets angry with us kids. A trait that my sister Didut has inherited. Very patient people, unlike me and my mom. So when he does gets angry, with just a simple (scary) stare, no questions asked -we obey in a jiffy.

On the 6th of this month, my Papa is turning 68. I would love to give him some cigars but it's not good for his health. I'll just think of another gift. His birthday is still a few days away so there's still plenty of time.

Just the thought of wrapping almost a hundred gifts, or more!, makes me tired and lazy to even start. Thank God for hallmark gift wrappers!

Lookie at the back of the gift wrapper. Lines! This is the kind of line that I like (not if it's on my face). The lines helps in cutting and folding the paper. Gifts, big or small, are more easier to wrap because of this gift wrapping papers from Hallmark.

This is an advance greeting to my sister Didut who is celebrating her 32nd birthday on the 5th of January. A very advance greeting from a very forgetful older, but prettier, sister. She may not know how to make handmade baby shower invitations from scratch, never really good in anything related to art for that matter, but she is very a very good cook.

You may do it alone, but a little help won't hurt. Just choose friends who are not very talkative and knows how to keep a secret. Next step is to make the invitations. The best place to find one is online. From birthday invites to baby shower invitations, it's all available in the world wide web. 

Choosing the caterer, venue and the different activities for the party can be assigned to your chosen not-talkative-friends.

Planning a surprise party can be tiring but fun!

Do you like surprise visits? It was never an issue for me but that feeling changed over the weekend. After eating lunch, day after my birthday, I feel like being lazy. I turned on the computer but I got interrupted before I even started browsing. My Dad was calling me from the living room. Apparently I have a visitor -a high school classmate that I haven't seen in more than 10 years! I haven't brushed my teeth, combed my hair and I am wearing something even Doby, the house-elf from HP, wouldn't even think of wearing! Thank God I already took a bath!

I just changed my shirt and rushed outside. My classmate was with her husband and baby. They we're in the neighborhood so they decided to drop by and say hi. They only stayed for a few minutes and I was a bad host because I even forgot to offer them something to eat or drink. The baby was just smiling and cooing, in his stroller the whole time.

As much as I would like to get reacquainted with friends from years ago, I don't like to experience any surprise visits ever again.

Yesterday was my 34th birthday. I am not ashamed to admit that I am thirty-four years old already. "It's ok to be 40, as long as you look 30!" That line was from a television commercial of a famous beauty product.

Was I happy on my birthday? Of course!

What was the best gift that I received?

The best gift that I received were the greetings from my family and friends. The  greetings were sent on my mobile and posted on my social networking site accounts. At the strike of 12 midnight of September 11, the "Happy Birthday" greetings started pouring in!

how time flies

I will be another year older waaah in exactly 4hours, 15minutes and 5seconds. Time does fly so fast. True, that I'll be a year older tomorrow. But I will definitely face that tomorrow with a much prettier wiser me! Do I feel old? Not really.

"Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter." So true, right? It's my birthday, so just please agree with me.

What I am a bit worried about though are the l-i-n-e-s. Yes, the lines! There's not that much yet. But I do have to start looking for the best eye cream for wrinkles. Any suggestions?

My birthday is just around the corner, Saturday of next week. I already made my birthday wishlist a few weeks back. But last night, I changed the top slot on my birthday wish. I was ready-for-battle when I turned on my laptop yesterday. I had a mission that I vowed to accomplish - search for an interesting topic to write on my blog. I was wasting my time, for almost an hour, hopping from one site to another. Until I reached a website that made my day.

I have been wanting to replace our 10-year old television set. And when I saw Samsung 3D HDTV, that want turned into I-want-it-right-this-minute! So yes, this is officially my #1 wish for my birthday this year.
