MMT #10 – Mom-ME Time, 24 July 2011

Happy Sunday everyone!

My official ME time, from the previous week, was mall time. I went to the mall last Friday while my son RJ was still in school. I reluctantly went to the mall, I was supposed to sleep so yes I was reluctant to go, but I badly need a new camera. I was planning to buy a red Canon DSLR camera but ended up buying a pink Canon IXUS 1000 HS.

I decided to buy it instead of the planned DSLR because it was on sale. Instead of paying the regular price of Php 24,000, I was able to buy it for only Php 14,000! This cheapskate mom had a wonderful ME time because of that.

Did you also have a wonderful Me time? I hope you also did. Share it here, just click the linky below.

something old, something almost-new

I don't like the feel of crisp, newly-washed jeans. It feels so tight on my waist and moving around is very uncomfortable. That's the reason why I only wash my jeans after a week or two of wearing it. Jeans worn for a few days is so comfortable to wear. Same sentiment with old jeans.

i want this Victoria Beckham South Beach Cropped Jean

Last week, I found this store that sell second hand clothes. It has racks and racks of clothes, even bridesmaid dresses, that are so cheap. Some are even brand new, complete with price tags, I can't help but check if I can buy something for me.

I ended up buying cropped jeans that has swarovski crystals on the front and back pockets. How much did I pay? 130 pesos! Roughly $2.70 (as of this writing). Cheap and comfortable to wear! I'm going back for more good finds.

mobile phone for the blogger on-the-go

Even the lightest and smallest netbook makes my back really painful, after just a few minutes of carrying it, because of scoliosis. There are indeed a lot of cellular phone suitable for bloggers, whose always on-the-go, who doesn't want to carry heavy laptops or netbooks.

I am not really into cellular phones. But I have been wasting my time, for more than 2 hours each day, while waiting for RJ's dismissal bell. So I decided to look for a phone that functions like a computer. And yes, I found one that is not that expensive!

I just bought a Nokia E63. It has Quick Office Application. I usually get weird stares from nannies, whenever I open my laptop, in the fetchers area at my son's school. I can now create my documents, spreadsheets or presentations in the fetching area in peace!

Although I love paperbacks more than ebooks, a paperback is as heavy as a mini laptop! My new phone has a mobile PDF application installed! I can read my ebooks on my celphone, no need to carry paperbacks in my bag, how cool is that!

The list of likes, for my new phone, goes on and on and on! Love it, love it, love it!

i heart books!

...especially if it's on sale!

A visit to the mall or the supermarket will never be complete without purchasing books. I am currently reading The Devil Wears Prada and yes I did purchase it from a second-hand bookstore. I noticed though that the movie is quite different from the paperback. Do they always do that? Change the storyline of the book when they make it into a movie?

Although, I have to admit, I like the movie better than the paperback. I do like the storyline of the book but some chapters have irrelevant paragraphs.

I highly recommend this book if you don't have anything better to read or do.
