I got behind the wheel again today. This time the car I used was automatic. Last time I drove a car was about more than 5 years ago during my driving lessons. I drove a manual car then, that's the reason why I didn't try driving again after I'm done with my driving lessons. Driving a manual car was so hard.

But this time, I really need to get a car and a license. My son has not been training with his schools swim team for 2 years already. And that's because no school service would like to make a special trip to bring him home after swim practice. So next school year, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have the courage to drive him to and from school, at least.

Whenever I travel at EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue), I don't breathe at all. I feel like having a heart attack while still on that road and shouting at the top of my lungs with relief at the end of that avenue. Buses turn and swerve left and right without any concern at all that there are smaller vehicles traveling on that road also.

But in a few months, or possibly weeks, hopefully I won't have that scared feeling whenever traveling in EDSA. Lady bus drivers are being hired and trained by MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) to replace reckless bus drivers.

Yaay to lady bus drivers! Be careful on the road.

looking for a driving school

I am scared of driving here in Manila. I enrolled in a 5-day driving lesson a few years back. I still have nightmares about that scary experience. The driving instructor asked me to drive the car right away. No lecture about car safety, parts of the car or road rules. Why didn't I ask for my money back? I guess I didn't have the energy to complain anymore after every driving session. Up to now, I think, I still don't know how to drive. I never sat behind a wheel again after that I-shouldn't-have-enrolled driving lesson!

But now, I need to learn again how to drive. I will practice driving first on an empty road. But I will look for an area that has roadside assistance club.
