masterchef? not me!

After the successful launch of Pinoy Junior Master Chef, ABS-CBN is now holding auditions for Master Chef (Philippines) Pinoy edition.
The qualifications are
  • 18 to 50 years old
  • no culinary degree or diploma
  • no cooking experience in a fine or casual dining restaurant
  • no teaching experience in a cooking class or demo
Master Chef Pinoy Edition

I’m qualified! I better look for used culinary equipments, so I can practice my culinary skills. But I’m no cooking expert like my sister D. I should encourage her to audition since she loves cooking, next to her daughter, so much!

She should show her talent to the whole world. Just like what I always tell my son, you’re very lucky for your God-given talent and the least that one can do to show their gratitude to God is to improve their talents and use it for good.

have you checked your weight lately?

I have.

And guess what? I gained 2 pounds. Yes, only two pounds but I feel like I gained a hundred. I just don't understand how two pounds can make my face look sooo big! And my stomach is so huge I look like a walking ball. I may be exaggerating a bit but I feel uncomfortable. Everytime I look at myself in the mirror, it looks like the two pounds all went straight to my cheeks. And when I am sitting down, the excess baggage around my waist is making me feel so uncomfortable I just want to stand up even while in front of the computer.

I should start removing carbohydrates on my diet. Or try to limit my rice to half cup per meal. I admit that I have been a rice-glutton these last few months. I should snack on low carb bars, chocolate flavored would be nice.

This summer, I will try to eat more fruits. Fruits at this time of the year are so cheap and therefore I won't have any excuse not to buy. Instead of preparing fried chicken, I will just roast it and not eat the skin (how will I do it, I looove chicken skin). More steamed fish instead of the usual, easy to cook, fried fish. More vegetables also in lieu of the half cup rice that I will deprive myself in every meal.

cooking class

I like preparing nutritious dishes for my son. But most of the time, he doesn't like the taste of the food that I cook . Maybe because I don't like using too much seasoning, I don't use MSG at all. Salt and pepper will do.

I am planning to enroll in a cooking class. I want to learn about the basics of cooking. I want to learn kids-tastebuds-friendly recipes that I can prepare for my son. Recipes without or with just a drop/pinch of seasoning.

I will research the classes that are available in the metro. Will post it here to help others wanting to join a cooking class but doesn't have the time to look for one.
