All I Want for Christmas

If I have to list down everything that I want to receive this Christmas, I would fill up a page or two of a regular-sized paper. On top of that list is a new computer. My HP netbook has been slowing down my work pace for the past months already. It’s very slow in loading up web pages. Even booting and rebooting it takes up a lot of time!

I should listen to my sister when she gives me her “this is how to speed up your computer" lecture. But I have a lot of things to “study” and learn lately, a brand new computer is my solution to my computer problem.

So yes, I want a new computer this Christmas. Any takers?

How to delete archived posts on your computer

This is a guide on how to delete posts created using Windows Live Writer.

I have been using Windows Live Writer (aka WLW) for, more or less, a year already. I use it especially with my Blogger hosted blogs. There are days when blogger is very slow, sometimes it even hangs up. So to save myself from pulling my hair out of frustration, when that unfortunate thing happens, I use Windows Live Writer when I update my blogs.

Upon publishing a post, WLW saves a copy of the post in the computer. And it automatically gets saved on the blog as well. I don’t need two copies so I usually delete, after a few months, the saved posts in my computer.

Can’t find it?

1. Go to the My Documents folder

2. Click My Weblog Posts

3. You’ll see two folders : Drafts and Recent Posts

4. From there you can choose the posts, published or drafts, that you want to delete.

Because of technology, more kids wear prescription eyeglasses these days. The culprits are television, handheld games, video games, cellular phones and computers. When I was in grade school, more than 20 years ago, there are only a handful of good shows for kids. And it's not even appealing to watch those shows because our television set was black and white.

We do play video games once in a while. But compared with thousands of exciting games now, the games available then were only a few. Computers and cellular phones were not necessities during those times also. Because of that, I still have 20/20 vision.

Although technology has bad effects to us, we shouldn't ignore the fact that it also has good effects. What we can do is use technology wisely. Use it to our advantage and not to our destruction.

i want my ex back!

I had lots of problems with this ex. For so many months, before saying adieu, I had to put up with waiting all the time. Such a waste of my precious time. I just couldn't take it anymore, I decided to get a new one.

I am not talking about an ex-boyfriend or ex-husband but my ex-laptop! I have to wait for 30 minutes (I am not kidding!) for it to boot. After much contemplating, I decided to buy a netbook. It's so much easier to bring anywhere and it doesn't take too much space inside my bag.

But I have lots of pictures and important files stored in that ex laptop. Since that laptop is considered a senior citizen laptop already, I therefore can't use the laptop warranty. I have to start looking for someone to fix it. Someone who doesn't pretend really knows how to fix a laptop and that someone shouldn't charge too much! Can anyone recommend a reliable technician?

I need a new laptop. I've been using my Dell Inspiron for around 5 years already. Just to open an email account takes forever. Maybe I should just upgrade it with a bigger memory. But I want to bring my laptop anywhere I go and this current laptop that I have weighs like I am carrying a big bus. That's an exaggeration, of course, but it is really heavy. I have scoliosis so I will try saving for a pink Dell Inspiron Mini.
